The Story of Samoon

Afghan Samoon Company is a leading agribusiness enterprise based in Istalif, Kabul, Afghanistan, specializing in the processing and export of Red and Thompson Raisins. With a state-of-the-art facility and a production capacity of 10,000 tons per year, we combine tradition with innovation to deliver premium Afghan raisins to global markets.

We work directly with over 3,000 local farmers across Shamali, Ghazni, and Kandahar, ensuring full traceability and fair-trade sourcing.

Afghan Samoon Raisin Storage

Controlled Environment:

We store raisins in a cool, dry place with a temperature range of 10–15°C (50–59°F) and humidity below 50% to prevent spoilage. We use climate-controlled storage facilities for large-scale operations or sensitive markets.

Pest Control:

We protect storage areas from pests by implementing regular inspections and using pest-resistant packaging. We Avoid direct contact between raisins and walls or floors to reduce the risk of contamination.

Air Circulation:

We ensure proper ventilation in storage areas to prevent mold growth and maintain freshness.

Packaging Protection:

We use vacuum-sealed or airtight containers to keep moisture, oxygen, an contaminants out. We Incorporate food-grade liners inside cartons for additional protection during storage.

FIFO (First In, First Out):

We implement the FIFO principle to use older stock before newer batches, ensuring no product stays in storage too long.
